This photography course is aimed at beginners and is a basic guide as to how to use the main functions of your camera. Over the course of the day we will help you understand how your camera works, why you adjust your shutter speed and aperture settings, and how to get your camera to take better pictures.

You will get a chance to put your new skills to the test and then have your work assessed to help you improve. This course is perfect for the photography enthusiast but has never gone beyond the auto setting. Or perhaps you have a new camera and want to learn how to use it!!

'Intermediate Photography Course'

Now you have a got a basic understanding of how to use your camera on manual, perhaps you are looking to develop your skills further?

Our 4 hour Intermediate course covers the following:

*Brief summary of how our cameras work on Manual
* Chance to show your work and recieve some constructive feedback.
*Lean more about more advanced camera techniques to improve your images and improve creativity.
*With an outdoor practical session (we will undertake this in most weather conditions, come prepared!)
*Intro to basic Flash (speedlite)
*Intro to Photo Shop & Lightroom for basic image management and editing tips.

'Studio Lighting'

This photography course is for people who are getting into studio photography for the first time. We will cover all the basics, starting right from the start on how to turn flash heads on.

We will cover the difference between hard and soft light, and how to achieve this using different modifiers, how to change settings and modifiers, and key safety considerations.

A model will be used for the second half of the course so that you can experience working with a professional model and the different lighting techniques used.

It's a really essential course for anyone who is thinking of using a studio, whether its for portraiture or models.

'Introduction to Wedding Photography'

This photography course is aimed at those who are looking to take their photography more seriously and venture into the world of Wedding Photography.

A good wedding photographer will make the whole process look easy, but it's not and you must invest time into training and gaining experience if you want to become a competent and successful wedding photographer.

During the course, we will go through the theory behind wedding photography, what equipment you need, look into the business aspect of the industry, how to set up as a wedding photographer, how to market yourself and where to place yourself in the market.

In the afternoon we will work with a bridal model on location (church), showing you poses to use and how to work inside and outside with a bride and groom, understanding how to work in low light environments as well as learning about the other aspects of the day.

So if you are looking for a course that shows you the real side of wedding photography then we have the right course for you.

'Property Photography'

This property photography course taught by John Durrant at Cherry Red Studios.

You may be great at portraits but your approach to property photography will likely be slightly different to your usual experiences behind the camera. He will share his techniques for producing natural-looking interiors. Agents hate the painterly effect achieved with many HDR-dedicated programs. They also dislike halos around interior wall lights. They want the best angles, indoors and outside. Interiors must sell the lifestyle. They also absolutely must have the ‘money shot’ that’ll get the property noticed on the portals.

As an ex-agent John with some 37 years under his belt, and a further five years as a professional property photographer, (www.hello-photo.co.uk) He knows this market inside out and is very happy to share his shooting and Photoshop workflow with other photographers who want to extend their skills.
