How long does our shoot last?

Your shoot is approximately 1hr long, although this can vary depending numbers of people and the ages of any children, very young children will find a full hour a bit too long under our big lights, so we go with the flow and make sure we get the photos you want!

Who can come with us to the shoot?

The simple answer is.. anyone you want! We welcome grandparents, newborns, family pets and even if that means the family snakes! If they are part of your family then they are welcome at our studio. (if you are bringing more than 10 people, please make sure you let us know, biggest group so far has been 23!)

What should we wear?

Whatever you like, we feel its important that you feel comfortable, relaxed and feel like yourself at the shoot, so avoid wearing things that will make you feel self conscious. We shoot in a very contemporary style, so this means we may ask you to sit/lie on the floor (you can say no!) so avoid very short skirts and low cut tops where possible. We want you to relax and have fun!
You are also welcome to bring a change of clothes for everyone, perhaps one smart set and a casual?

Can we wear white?

We suggest that you avoid wearing white as a block colour (ie a plain white shirt or trousers).
White as part of a pattern is fine, there reason we suggest this is because we shoot mainly on a plain white background and it can mean its hard to see the definition of a white top against the white background. We end up with floating heads!!

Can we bring props?

Yes of course! we have lots of fun props and toys to play with at the studio but if you have anything that you would specifically like to feature in a photograph, then bring it a long, we can even fit in a motorbike! So if your son wants to wear his favourite football teams kit for a photograph then bring it along!

When do we get to see the pictures?

We are a professional studio and take great pride in the final presentation of your images, this takes time so we invite you back in a week later to view your images on our big screen.
Feel free to bring along anyone else that might be interested in viewing your photos!

How do we make an order?

After viewing your photographs, your photographer will show you all the options available, plus the price list is available to view online prior to your visit to the studio.
We do not operate a hard sell tactic at Cherry Red Studios, which is why we are clear and open about our prices and hope you come along with an idea of what you want and are willing to spend.

Your photographer will help you with your choices and once you have chosen what you want, full payment is needed to confirm the order.

You will get to take away an order form with small versions of your chosen images. This order form means you have fully approved the order.

If we buy a CD, do we get copyright?

This is always a tricky area, the short answer is no. We sell you “personal usage rights” which means you can make copies, prints, canvases, put them on your personal social networking pages etc... but you can not sell them to a third party or allow them to be used for commercial purposes with out our full written consent.

Copyright is a complex subject, but whoever ever owns the copyright has the right to say they took the photographs themselves, this is why we always retain copyright.
Your CD will be labelled so you are free to print from it for along as you wish.

How long until we get our images?

Orders usually take around 4 weeks to be completed depending on what you have chosen, some items may be hand made so can take longer.
If you have a set time frame in mind, please let your photographer know on the day of the shoot so we can ensure we  and our suppliers work quickly to fit to your time frame.

How long do you keep our images?

We do not like to delete any images, and therefore use hard drives to archive all shoots, however we can only take liability for up to 1year after your shoot. You are more than welcome to make an appointment to come and re-view your images at anytime.

We are able to offer an online gallery for you to show other members of the family, but this is only open to you once you have been in for the initial viewing and purchased images.

What if we are not happy with the final result?

So far we have had very few returns, but we know that from time to time this can happen.
If the issue is with the printing or there is damage to the frame, canvas or print we will ensure the problem is rectified. However we are unable to refund for issues that are due to a customer no longer wanting the item or not liking the overall effect of the product.

Many of our products are hand made by high quality craftsmen to a spec to suit you, so please be 100% sure when you make your order that you are aware of the size and scale of what you are ordering and that it is what you want.
